March 2014 Newsletter

Dear friend and supporter,

Thank you for your support of this missionary Bible teaching ministry. May the Lord bless you.

The Pentecostal Outpouring:

“And it shall come to pass afterward, (that) I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:” (Joel 2:28)

I have just returned from the Society for Pentecostal Studies 2014 meeting in Springfield, Missouri. As different papers were presented by seminary and university professors, I realized just how amazing is the heritage of the Pentecostal revival in the early 1900's.

At Azuza Street, there were as many black as white leaders, and as many men as women ministers. Many years before integration in America, there were black and white leaders in several denominations. There were differences in “Oneness”, “Jesus Name”, and “Trinitarian” doctrine. Being birthed out of the Methodist and Missionary Alliance churches, the four pillars of doctrine were; Salvation, Sanctification, Baptism of the Spirit and Return of the Lord. Missionaries preached these four messages all over the world.

Let us return to our Pentecostal roots to have a personal, righteous, and anointed relationship with our Lord.

Mission Ministry:

Joseph Mugo, Omega Pentecostal Church, Kianyaga, Kenya:

$2,000 has been donated for the building of the Omega Pentecostal headquarters church. After paying the $1,265 used to build the walls and roof of the church, $735 remains to lay a cement floor! Mugo writes that he has been traveling visiting churches and conducting seminars for pastors. In Mombasa, many turned up. Friday, he taught on Unity, Saturday on Water Baptism with twenty-one being baptized, and 102 taking Holy Communion on Sunday.

Please pray for several churches that have been attacked by Muslim extremists in Mombasa. Mugo’s crops dried before they could produce anything. Pray for the drought in Kenya. His wife and grand children living with them are thankful for our faithful support of $300.00 a month.

Kalembelembe Bible Institute, Fizi, Dem. Rep, of Congo:

Director Eciba Ekyochi has reported on the First Trimester 2013/14. There were twenty students. Eciba reports that students are holding morning, and dormitory prayers. The gifts of the Spirit are being manifested in their chapel, and they are going out to preach on weekends. $1,091.00 was sent to pay for the salaries of three teachers, and a guard, for student tea, and to buy a generator to power the computer which was bought last trimester.

Ralph & Shirley Hagemeier, and Stephanie, Kalemie, Dem. Rep. of Congo:

Ralph writes that Shirley is feeling much better after all the metal that was put in her foot was removed from when she stumbled and broke it last year. Ralph reported on how they are using funds donated to their ministry. On the 98 acre campus in Kalemie there is plenty of maintenance for roads, buildings, and grass. During the last year, they have completed their library, with many books coming in a container. Local churches are assisted in their buildings. milk is provided for widows, medical supplies for Stephanie’ children’s clinic. The Hagemeiers have purchased a four-door Ford pickup for Dan and Melinda Koehler, mission-aries in Dar Es Salaam. (Dan and Melinda served in Bukavu when we were there in 1992 to ‘94.)

Samwel Ratanga, Pentecostal Free Church, Migori, Kenya:

In the picture, Ratanga is standing in front of a new church being built at Milimani on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. They are having a fund raising to buy timber and iron sheets to put the roof on this building. Ratanga is thankful for the $200 sent to help put the roof on this church. I helped the Pentecostal Free Church to register with the government of Kenya in 1975.

Yajaira Calero de Gomez, Illuminating His Word to the Nations, Mississauga, Ontario:

In 2006, Yajaira was referred to me by Paul McPhail, the General Secretary of the Independent Assemblies of God International in Canada. Calero was completing her Master of Divinity degree at Mac Master University in Hamilton, Ontario. To complete her degree requirements, she had to intern on the mission field. Although she contacted several missionaries, I was the only one to respond. I arranged for her to speak in several youth meetings and churches in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. She was a very great blessing, and has returned to minister several times in Bukavu and other cities of Congo, Rwanda, and with Bro Mugo in Kenya. She has also ministered in Honduras and other Caribbean countries.

In 2010, I helped her to register I.H.W.N. as a charity with the Canadian government. The pastor of her home Spanish church in Hamilton recommended that she should apply for ordination with a larger fellowship. So she was accepted for ordained in the I.A.O.G.I.(C.). In a few months, she will complete her Doctor of Ministries degree at Tyndale College and Seminary in Toronto, Ontario. In October 2011, she was married to Jorge Gomez. Congratulations, Yajaira, in all that the Lord is doing in your life and ministry.

African Safari 2014:

Please begin praying for my thirty-first African Safari to Kenya and Congo for September through November this year. Inquiries are being made to plan meetings. Two messages have been sent to translate into Kiswahili for the pastor’s seminars. Funds are already coming in for this safari.

If you would like to join me for part or all of this ministry, please contact me to get your travel documents and health records ready.

Thank You for Your Prayers and Financial Support:

May the Lord bless you for your prayerful financial support for this missionary Bible teaching ministry. You may send your donations to one of the post office box addresses in the letter head above.

Yours together in His harvest,

Charles Willner
