The Lord bless you for your prayers and support for this missionary Bible teaching ministry.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.” (Philippians 3:10,11)
This should be the New Year’s resolution of every Christian. The richness of the experience that is available to us in Christ is worth all of the struggle that we go through to know the Lord. The part of this that is so difficult for us in the western culture is that we shrink from dying to the flesh in order to reach maturity in Christ. Let us have personal devotions every day with reading the Bible and prayer. Let us take time to fast and seek God. Let us “assemble ourselves together” with a local church and developing our gifts and ministries. Let us witness to our family, friends at school and work, and even to strangers, to evangelize our world.
Joseph Mugo, Kianyaga, Kenya:
Mugo believes that as the world becomes more tense the coming of the Lord Jesus is approaching. "It generates anticipation, hope and unspeakable joy to know that we will be a part of his government." He has just received the one hundred plastic chairs he had ordered for their headquarters church for the Omega Pentecostal Churches. Bro. Mugo has been so faithful with the $1,335 he has received from Open Word. His churches are expected to contribute and equal amount to finish this church. Joseph and Josephine have already contributed the profit from marketing their harvest. Mugo reports that they held a beautful baptism in Embu. His Omega churches are doing well in Kirinyaga, Meru, Nairobi, and Coast. Mugo is so thankful for the $300 support that he receives each month.
Kalembelembe Bible Institute, Fizi, Dem. Rep, of Congo:
Director Eciba Ekyochi has reported on the First Trimester 2013-14. There were twenty students. Eciba reports that students are holding morning, and dormitory prayers. The gifts of the Spirit are being manifest-ed in their chapel, and they are going out to preach on weekends. $1,091.00 was sent to pay for the salaries of three teachers, and a guard, for student tea, and to buy a generator to power the computer which was bought last trimester.
Ralph & Shirley Hagemeier, and Stephanie, Kalemie, Dem. Rep. of Congo:
Ralph writes that they are on their way home from the Congo. They were able to attend the New Year’s service in Kigoma, and they fellow-shipped with a pastor and preached for missionaries Dan and Melinda Koehler in Dar es Salaam. (The Koehlers were missionaries in Bukavu when we were resident missionaries there from 1992 to 1994.) They are thankful to see these churches, meet new Christians, see baptisms, and to be alive and active at this time of their lives. (January 7 was Ralph’s 74th birthday.)
